Inspired by the fibreglass and glues used in WWII fighter planes, the prototype shown on the second image from the left and at the far right (with a girl sitting on it), and produced at the National Research Council in Ottawa from fusing ten layers of fibreglass into a one-piece moulded plastic chair, was the first of its kind in the world. It preceded Charles and Ray Eames plastic DAR series by four years. No known example survives. Left to right: James Donahue, Web Chair.
