(Serena Keshavjee) After graduating from the University of Manitoba School of Architecture in 1948, Kiyoshi Izumi (1921-1996) took up graduate studies at the Massachussetts Institute of Technology (with among others, György Kepes, 1948-50), and at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (1950-54), with among others, Walter Gropius and Izumi’s compatriot Richard Filipowski.
