Bauhaus (Métis) Architecture A

Canada’s two most important Métis architects, Étienne Gaboury and Douglas Cardinal can trace their “organicist” architectural practices to Bauhaus and Modernist education and principles. While Cardinal studied architeture with Hugo Liepzinger-Pierce, a student of Hannes Meyer at the University of Texas, Austin, Gaboury, a University of Manitoba graduate, apprenticed with Le Corbusier in France.
