The collection of early German drawings is a rich and varied segment of the prestigious international drawing collection, which includes approximately nine thousand sheets, preserved in the Museum of Fine Arts. For the exhibition, we have selected works created in the German-speaking world in the two centuries spanning from the world of international Gothic through the Renaissance to the period of Mannerism. We supplemented these compositions with some copper and wood engravings by the virtuoso graphic artist of the German Renaissance, Albrecht Dürer, so that you can see a total of 54 works at the exhibition.
