The building, originally constructed as a stable for the postal relay station on the Hunyady family's estate in Szemes in the last quarter of the 18th century, has housed the exhibitions of the Postal Museum since 1962. With the addition of a relocated railway mail car and a newly built carriage shed, the site soon became a thematic exhibition venue for transport history. The current exhibition, From Carriage to Electromobile – The History of Postal Transport, showcases the finest items from the Postal Museum's vehicle collection.
