At the end of January 2020, the Rippl-Rónai Museum opened its new permanent exhibition, which provides an overview of the museum’s Numismatic Collection. The exhibition presents nearly 500 coins dating from antiquity up to 1711. Gold coins, silver thalers of various forms, rarer Hungarian and foreign denarii, as well as coin hoards and treasure finds hidden from danger, and Celtic and Roman coins are on display. In addition to traditional display methods, visitors are welcomed by enlarged photographs of coins, coins that can be examined with a magnifying glass, coin-minting tools, touchable coin replicas, and a touchscreen information panel. A museum education program, an activity booklet, and a catalogue were also produced for the exhibition.
The exhibition was realized within the framework of the Ágoston Kubinyi Program.
