Morganucodon watsonii
(”glamorgan tooth”)
This shrew-mouse-like animal was plantigrade and laid eggs. It fed its offspring with milk like mammals do, and its body temperature did not depend on its environment. Its earliest remains have been found near Glamorgan (Wales) in 1949.
Xianshou songae
(”immortal being”)
Its long tail and limbs, and crawling fingers show that it lived on trees, where it fed on seeds and berries. It has been discovered alongside two similar species in the territory of China, in 2014.
Purgatorius unio
(”Animal from Purgatory Hill”)
It could be one of the primitive primates. It had squirrel-like appearance and limbs with strong claws, which aided it in climbing on trees. It was omnivorous. Its first remains have been found in 1965, in Montana (United States) near the Purgatory Hill, hence its name.
