1815–-1824: The bones are named
150 years after the discovery of the first bone, William Buckland, English priest and geologist gave the name Megalosaurus to the extinct creature. More of the remains of this animal had been found by that time and it was probably an unknown giant reptile.

It was William Buckland who has discovered coprolite that is petrified feces for the first time in 1823. He soon became expert in the subject, and he had literally a whole private collection of this rare natural treasure.
