1856 – The first dinosaur finds from America
A geological survey led by Ferdinand V. Hayden found fossil teeth in Nebraska along the Judith River. Joseph Leidy identified the finds as dinosaur teeth (Trachodon, Troodon, Deinodon). It was first published in 1856 and then in 1860.
