Red is one of the most ancient colours, first appearing in archaic cave paintings. The most symbolic traits can be attributed to this tone of dramatically radiating intensity. It is the colour of blood, the source of life which pulsates in veins, but it can also be associated with violence and the loss of blood and life itself. In a spiritual sense it can evoke the divine but, also, the satanic. On one hand, feelings of love and desire can be associated with it, but on the other hand, it can represent anger and power.
