The collection of the Munkácsy Mihály Museum is the crown jewel of Mihály Munkácsy's oeuvre kept in Békéscsaba. The collection, consisting of about ten paintings and the same number of prints, and the unique relics, which have been growing continuously for more than a hundred years, currently numbering 579 items, predestine the city of Békéscsaba and the Munkácsy Mihály Museum to cultivate the cult surrounding the painter's person.
